Can a Narcissist Have a Soul Mate?

A person with narcissistic personality disorder has many soul mates.

In fact, it is uncanny that each new person is the very definition of their “soul mate” and they do a very good job at convincing you of this fact all the while something inside is telling you otherwise…

But you have “so much in common!” You love all the same movies and laugh in all the same places. You can do no wrong! Could it be? Never deny “true love!” You’re just scared…love is scary, I suppose, but you have to embrace it…this is your “Soul Mate” after all….

After a bit of time passes you feel uneasy. Unsure. Unsteady. Maybe you’re not feeling well. And when you are told that you are not “behaving like a normal person” you believe them because they “love” you and they know you better than you know yourself…right?

And you're tired. You have plans to have dinner with a friend. It would be nice to spend some time with a friend…but they tell you that “you need your rest…they never really cared for that friend anyway….”

And your Mom is getting on their nerves…” would it be okay if she didn’t come to visit quite as often?”

And before you know it, everything that once made sense is unclear. Oh, but rest assured…your “soul mate” still loves you and knows what's best for you.

But now they are acting cruel. And they are not there like they said they would be. And you want to talk about things but they tell you it’s “all very unimportant”…and everyone else is gone.

And then so are they…

And then so are you…

Trying to fill the endless void in the heart of a Narcissist.
