If Narcissists Can Write Songs, what Type Of Songs Do They Write?

Oh my goodness…what an interesting question…I’m not sure there is even an answer because in order to compose a song, you must feel the song inside of you. You must love music with everything that you are…you live, sleep and breathe it…you are literally mesmerized by it and it isn’t fleeting…this is devotion…and a narcissist is not exactly the devoted type…

Also (and this is really important…) you have to be honest. Totally and completely authentic. You are not thinking about what others will say about it. You are not thinking about making it ‘bigger or better ‘ you are total stream of consciousness and all you can think of is the next line, the next chord progression, and if it moves you.

A writer (in any form) needs to be honest, or else it simply will not reach people …anyone. It will not be inspiring. Memorable. Something you would attach to an amazing moment in your life…or any moment, for that matter.

A writer (a good writer) has the ability to draw out many different emotions from their audience. They can make you laugh. They can make you cry. They can make you feel… even if they are writing fiction…it doesn’t matter…I just can not imagine a narcissist having the ability to evoke true joy and emotion from anyone…

Because in order to inspire others I believe that you too need to feel inspired. A narcissist is the furthest thing from inspired…they are empty. They are merely a vessel. No heart. No soul. There is no love inside…and without love, (at least for me…) there simply is no music in the world and that is one of the most tragic things I can bear to imagine.
