What Film Depicts Narcissist Abuse?

It’s very interesting that I just stumbled upon this question. I recently watched a movie…

‘Diary Of A Mad Black Woman.’

I had heard of it..but I had never seen it. I assumed it would be kind of silly, and though there were a few silly parts…it really was not silly at all.

This woman literally goes through what so many of us have experienced, yet Tyler Perry was somehow able to capture, and portray the parts of both narcissist…and victim…and he does it with ease.

How did he know?

The only inauthentic thing about this movie is that it has a happy ending. The ‘villain’ realizes his evil ways, and wants to become a better person and he actually succeeds…though he doesn’t get the girl in the end… he redeems himself…that was the only thing that was wrong with this movie.

Of course it is Hollywood.…And they need to pay the actors, directors, etc…and everyone just loves a happy ending…

I once read that Robert Redford refused to play the leading role in the movie ‘The Natural,’ unless they changed the ending. The original ending was not a happy one. He does not get the girl (the Mother of his child. ) in the end. He does not win the game. He looses everything…and though he loved the script he did not like the ending, so they changed it and Robert Redford once again makes history.

But what about the real world? The cold, hard, truth…

I’m not saying ‘The Natural’ needed to be based on Narcissism, nor am I saying that happy endings don’t happen, but more people need to know that narcissistic abuse is very real and needs to be stopped…somehow.

I will keep saying this…I will say this until I can no longer draw breath….

This topic needs to have a wider platform. Much more exposure. We need to speak about this in every way, with every race, religion and gender. People need to know. It should be considered an actual crime with actual consequences. It needs to be taught in school. It should be part of the curriculum.…just like biology, art, and history.

And yes…more movies depicting this very thing…perhaps that could change things a bit. It’s a start
