What Were the Most Valuable Lessons you Learned from a Narcissist Gaslighting You?

Well…for starters, I learned what it felt like to be an actual crazy person for a little while …not the best experience, but an experience none the less.

I learned who my true blue real friends really were. Not the easiest lesson, but I suppose it was absolutely necessary.

I learned even more so how much my Mom loved me. I always knew how incredibly special she was, but it not only took an amazing amount of strength on her part, it took more love than I ever knew could exist inside of another human being.

I learned how vital it is to hold on to the things most dear to you…for me, it was music, my values, my memories, meaningful words from special people, my dog, my friends, my family and my great love of people in general.

But the most valuable lesson of all…one morning I woke up and I just felt a little bit different than I had for years. I was certain whatever strength I had inside of me was gone forever. But that particular day everything looked a little bit different, felt different and I started to remember important things…I realized that I really did have a very strong sense of self all along, and not even the most unthinkable of circumstances could change that. To sum it up…I remembered who the hell I was!
